Canadian Chapter of Stickler Involved People
A bit about our family:
We have two children, Lauren (21) and Tyler (14). Lauren graduated from Lindsay Place High School 4 years ago and studied Early Childhood Education at Vanier College for 2 years before moving out to Whister BC. Lauren loves Whistler and is currently works as a kids clothing store. She enjoys horseback riding and was active in the Strathmore Venturer Company of Scouts Canada and we are very proud of her achievements, including becoming a Queen's Venturer. She also helped(S.I.T.) at Beavers and assists disabled children at summer camps. Tyler is in Grade Eight and is currently going to John Rennie High School. in Pointe Claire and is also followed by The Montreal Oral School for the Deaf and the Montreal Association for the Blind. He enjoys being a member of Scouts Canada and is very proud to be a recipient of the Award for Fortitude. He is in currently in Venturers and is very active for his age. Tyler is very active in hockey as he plays street hockey with all of the kids on the street. He recently did some fundraising for Shooters for Kids and the Rick Hansen Wheels in Motion for a wheelchair park near our house. We moved to Pointe-Claire 8 years ago, and lived in Dollard-des-Ormeaux for 6 years before. We are very lucky to have such great neighbours, giving a true community spirit to our little street! I grew up in rural Ontario, near St. Catharines on a grape farm. The Niagara Grape and Wine Festival is a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy some of what Ontario has to offer! We also enjoy going to The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in November. Joey grew up here in Montreal and has raced horses at Hippodrome de Montreal for many years.
We have family here in and around Montreal, Ottawa, Beamsville ON, St. Catharines, Prince Edward Island, Kansas City, MO and Brunico Italy, where Joey's brother coaches hockey.
With Tyler's many health concerns, we consider ourselves very lucky and blessed to have such wonderful doctors and surgeons working with us from Montreal Children's Hospital, The Royal Victoria Hospital, and Shriner's Hospital, as well as the multitude of other professionals who help make Tyler's life easier.
